Growing Kyle

Ok, in the midst of all of the hustle and bustle of our prepping for our trip, our trip and the rest of December....Kyle took a growth spurt.  Many of you know all about how this goes.  The beginning of December he started eating - A LOT.  Several days, I asked if he had a hole in his leg because he had eaten so much....and we all know he is stick thin.  Well, there was no hole, it all went to his bones.  Suddenly his pants were too short and he couldn't button them.  Hmmm.....right in the middle of the holidays!  So alas, the day after New Year's we headed out to the outlet mall to replenish his supply of pants so that he would have something to wear...lol.

Now, that all being said, Kyle is a late spring birthday kid.  So he is young in his grade, and yet much older in his ways.  He sometimes forgets....he is 9.  Unfortunately, Disney reminded him of this.  You see, when you are 9, the meal plan gives you a kids meal plan.  9 is the cut off.....10, you get adult meals.  So, in the midst of this growth spurt we get to Disney, and go to purchase meals where he is told he must order a kids meal.  Blow to his pride, and alas....the kids meal probably wouldn't have fed  him anyway.  Ugh.  Just a note for those unsuspecting parents (like me) .....there were tears the first day, and then we worked it out after that that Sam would order kids meals....and Kyle could have a regular meal.  I shared mine with Carmine....it all worked out in the end.

Also, for those who know my Kyle....how he never really expresses emotions....  Kyle had a great time on our vacation.  Said so himself.  lol :)  Well, and there were several moments as the one above where the smile did speak for itself.
